Hello, I am Principal Akira Sekita.

Welcome to Saitama Municipal Omiya Kita High School.

It is a great honor to receive the 17 students and 6 teachers of Imhotep Institute Charter High School here today.

 

Your school, located in Philadelphia, is well known for its strong commitment to STEM education and for empowering young African American students to become future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

We are truly delighted that you have chosen our school as a partner for international scientific and educational exchange.

 

This visit has been made possible through the support of METI, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and through the coordination of Mr. Semans of MOIS, Municipal Omiya International Secondary School.

On behalf of our entire school community, I would like to express our sincere appreciation.

 

At Omiya Kita High School, we believe that learning is enriched when students encounter different cultures, perspectives, and ideas.

I hope that today’s exchange will inspire all of you, broaden your horizons, and spark new curiosity. I also hope that this will be the beginning of a long?lasting relationship between our two schools.

 

Although your time here is short, please enjoy it with us.

We hope you will explore our classrooms, attend a class, talk with our students, and experience Japanese school life.

こんにちは、校長の関田晃です。

さいたま市立大宮北高等学校へようこそ。

本日は、インホテップ・インスティテュート・チャーター・ハイ・スクールの生徒17名、教員6名の皆さまをお迎えでき、大変光栄に思います。

 

フィラデルフィアにある皆さまの学校は、STEM教育に力を入れ、アフリカ系アメリカ人の若者を未来の科学技術分野のリーダーとして育成していることで広く知られています。そのような学校が、国際的な科学教育の推進を目的として本校を訪問先に選んでくださったことを、心より嬉しく思います。

 

今回の訪問は、経済産業省のご支援、そして大宮国際中等教育学校の Mr.Semansのご尽力により実現しました。本校を代表して、深く感謝申し上げます。

 

大宮北高校では、異なる文化や価値観に触れることが学びを豊かにすると考えています。本日の交流が、皆さまに新たな刺激を与え、視野を広げ、さらなる探究心を育む機会となることを願っています。そして、この出会いが両校の長く続く交流の第一歩となれば幸いです。

 

短い期間ではありますが、ぜひ私たちとの楽しい時間を過ごしてください。教室を見学したり、授業に参加したり、生徒たちと話したり、日本の学校生活を体験したりしていただければ幸いです。私たちも皆さんから学ぶことを楽しみにしています。
