埼玉大学を訪問！最先端の科学とキャンパスライフを体験

プログラム4日目は、埼玉大学を訪問しました。

今夜からは東京・天王洲アイルへ移動するため、大きな荷物を積み込んでの出発です。

『放射線を学ぶ・測る』

午前中は井上直也シニアプロフェッサーによる「自然放射線」の講義を受けました。理論を学ぶだけでなく、実際に測定器を使って室内の放射線量を測る実習も行い、目に見えない科学の世界を肌で感じることができました。

「大学生活を先取り！ランチ＆学生交流」

昼食は学生食堂を利用しました。大学生に混じって好きなメニューを選び、現地のキャンパスライフを体験。午後は7名の留学生と、将来日本語教師を目指す4年生の学生とのグループディスカッションに臨みました。日本での留学生活や将来の夢について、世代の近い先輩たちから直接話を聞ける貴重な機会となりました。

「ノーベル賞の興奮を間近に」

午後のハイライトは、永澤明名誉教授による特別講演です。今年度、日本人が受賞したノーベル化学賞の研究内容について、その意義を分かりやすく解説していただきました。図書館ではノーベル賞受賞者・梶田教授の展示を見学し、世界トップレベルの研究への憧れを強くしたようです。

夕方には南与野駅で荷物を受け取り、新しい滞在先である天王洲アイルへと移動。明日の活動に向けて気持ちを新たにしました。

Exploring Advanced Science and Campus Life at Saitama University

On the fourth day of the program, the students visited Saitama University for a full day of academic immersion.

Hands-on Science: Radiation Measurement

The morning session featured a lecture and workshop on “Natural Radiation” by Senior Professor Naoya Inoue. Students had the unique opportunity to use radiation detectors to measure the environment, turning theoretical knowledge into a practical experience.

Campus Life & International Exchange

For lunch, students enjoyed the university cafeteria, experiencing the daily life of Japanese students. The afternoon session included a lively group discussion with seven international students and a senior student specializing in Japanese language education. They exchanged views on studying abroad and life in Japan.

Special Lecture on the Nobel Prize

Professor Emeritus Akira Nagasawa delivered a timely lecture on the research behind this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The students also visited the university library to view the special exhibition dedicated to Nobel Laureate Professor Kajita, gaining inspiration from world-class scientific achievements.
