ＳＳＨプログラムでもありますが、５月２２日「国際生物多様性の日」にちなんだ活動として、２０２６年５月３０日～６月１日にかけて今年度も臨海フィールドワークを実施しました。

千葉県館山市にある「お茶の水女子大学湾岸生物教育研究所」に協力をしていただき、ヒトデや始めとする海洋生物をテーマに現地研修を行いました。

研修では、ヒトデの発生過程を学び、成長を段階的に顕微鏡で観察しました。時間の経過に伴って細胞が姿を変えていく様子を丁寧に教えていただきました。また、磯に生息する生物について現地調査を行いました。今年度は沖ノ島まで出かけ、様々な生き物とふれあいました。生徒が実際に見つけたカニやヒトデ、ゴカイの仲間などの海洋生物を分類し、生物多様性を体験的に学びました。今年度はタコも採集することができ、例年よりも多くの種類の生物について触れながら学ぶことができました。

また、夜はウミホタルの採集にも行きました。発光生物として有名なウミホタルを自分たちで採集し、発光の仕組みについて学び、特殊な能力を持つ生物についても考えることができました。

As an activity to commemorate “International Day for Biological Diversity” on May 22, we conducted a seaside fieldwork on May 30 June 1, 2026.

With the cooperation of the Ochanomizu University Institute for Marine Biology Education in Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture, we conducted field research on the theme of starfish and other marine organisms.

During the researching, participants learned about the developmental process of starfish  and observed their growth stages under a microscope. The professor carefully explained how cells change over time. The students also conducted field research on the organisms that inhabit the seashore. Students classified the marine organisms they actually found, such as crabs, starfish, and members of the Gokai, and learned about biodiversity through hands-on experience. This year, we were able to collect octopuses as well, which allowed us to learn about a wider variety of marine life than in previous years.

In the evening, we went collecting sea fireflies. By collecting sea fireflies themselves, which are famous as luminous organisms, students learned about the mechanism of luminescence and were able to think about organisms with special abilities.
