本校は韓国のスウォン市にある三一工業高等学校（STHS）と姉妹校連携を行なっています。今回はSTHSの生徒と先生方に来校していただき交流を行いました。

本プロジェクトでは、日韓姉妹校連携大使および大使補佐として、生徒が計画を立て実行することを大切にしてきました。今回も大宮盆栽美術館に下見に行って案内の仕方を考えたり、学校での交流プログラムを考えたりするなど、生徒たちによる計画です。学校レベルや高校生レベルでできる日韓連携を推進しています。

Our school has established a sister school partnership with Samil Technical High School (STHS) in Suwon, South Korea. This time, students and teachers from STHS visited our school for an exchange program. In this project, we have emphasized having students plan and execute activities as Korea-Japan Sister School Partnership Ambassadors and Assistant Ambassadors. This visit was also planned by the students, including a preliminary visit to the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum to consider how to guide visitors. And devising an exchange program at the school. We are promoting Korea-Japan collaboration at both the school level and the high school student level.

【STHS来校２日目：2025.11.20】

活動内容：ホストファミリーと一緒に登校、ウェルカムセレモニー、学校見学ツアー、授業体験、探究活動体験、部活動体験、さいたま新都心で夕食、宿泊ホテルへ送り届けて解散

※STHSは2025.11.22まで日本に滞在だが、本校が関わるのはここまでである

２日目は本校で様々なプログラムを実施しました。STHSのみなさんから日本の学校とはどういうものなのかを体験してみたいというリクエストがありましたので、できるだけ普段の授業をそのまま体験してもらえるようにしました。

まずは、ウェルカムセレモニーです。本校の特長の１つでもあるICT機器を活用し会場とクラスをリモートで繋いで実施しました。本校からは歓迎のメッセージを伝え、STHSからは校長先生や代表生徒によるスピーチをいただきました。本校の訪問を非常に楽しみにしてくれていたようで、手書きのイラストなどを用いたスライドで気持ちを伝えてもらいました。また、STHSの学校紹介では、韓国の学校事情や１日の過ごし方などがわかりやすくまとめられていました。

次に、学校見学を行いました。公立校としては一般的な施設なのですが、STHSの生徒たちはそれぞれの授業に興味津々な様子でした。途中、３Dプリンターが置いてある部屋では、両校にあるため今後オンライン交流をする際にも活用できるかも知れないと盛り上がりました。

そして、実際に授業の体験もしてもらいました。本校のバディクラスにSTHSの生徒にそのまま加わってもらい、いつも通りの授業を受けてもらいました。国語や数学、英語、体育など教科はさまざまでしたが、本校生徒に同化するくらい馴染んで授業を受けていました。

午前の授業が終わるといよいよ昼食です。本校の食堂を利用し、OKHSの日韓姉妹校連携大使が交流昼食を企画しました。想像以上に交流したい生徒が来てしまい、座席が足りなくなるハプニングがありましたが、みんなで日韓の食べ物やアイドル、流行っているものなどについて話しながら楽しく昼食を摂ることができました。

午後は、２年生の探究活動を体験してもらいました。本校２年生には様々な分野に分かれ、１年間研究を行う授業があります。理科の分野では実験や観察を通じて研究を進めていきます。英語などの言語を研究したり、プログラミング、スポーツ、書道を研究するようなチームもあります。STHSの生徒にはそれぞれが興味を持っている分野に分かれてもらい、「探究的に学ぶ」ということについて体験してもらいました。

そして、こちらもSTHSの強い要望である部活動体験を実施しました。韓国における部活動は習い事という感覚らしく、放課後に定期的にみんなで集まって活動を行うというのは日本独自の文化なのだそうです。こちらも希望に基づいて様々な部活動に分かれて体験をしてもらいました。空手道を体験しているSTHSの２名は合気道とテコンドーの経験者だったそうで、体の使い方が似ていると話していました。

部活動が終わるといよいよ最後のプログラムである夕食です。OKHSの生徒とSTHSの生徒でバディを組みさいたま新都心コクーンで夕食を摂りました。バディごとに自由で良かったのですが、生徒発案でみんなで一緒に食べようとなったようで、２０名を超えるメンバーで和気あいあいと夕食にすることができました。解散場所であるホテルにも全員で到着し、非常に温かい雰囲気でプログラムを終えることができました。

今後もさらに交流を深めていきたいと考えています。

＜生徒感想より＞

STHSの生徒の日本語が上手でびっくりした。翻訳を使いながらでも十分コミュニケーションは取れるし楽しかったが、やはり韓国語を学んでよりスムーズなやり取りができるようになりたいと感じた。こちらが韓国に行った時にすごくもてなしてもらったので、今回は日本で楽しんでもらえて良かった。連携大使にはなっていないが、前にオンラインプログラムであった生徒が覚えていてくれて嬉しかった。高校生同士だから話せる気軽さがこのまま日韓の仲の良さにつながればいいなと思った。

【Day 2 in Japan: November 20, 2025】

Activities: Attend school with host families, welcome ceremony, school tour, class experience, inquiry-based learning experience, club activity experience, dinner in Saitama Shintoshin, return to accommodation hotel and disband

On the second day, we held various programs at our school. Since the STHS students requested to experience what a Japanese school is like, we arranged for them to experience regular classes as much as possible.

First, the welcome ceremony. Utilizing ICT equipment, one of our school’s distinctive features, we connected the venue and classrooms remotely. Our school conveyed a welcome message, and STHS provided speeches by their principal and student representatives. They seemed very much looking forward to our visit, expressing their feelings through slides featuring hand-drawn illustrations. Additionally, STHS’s school introduction clearly summarized Korean school conditions and daily routines.

Next, we conducted a school tour. While the facilities are typical for a public school, the STHS students appeared genuinely fascinated by each class they observed. In one room housing a 3D printer, excitement grew as they realized both schools have one, suggesting it could be useful for future online exchanges.

We also had them experience actual classes. STHS students joined our buddy classes directly and participated in regular lessons. Subjects varied—Japanese, math, English, physical education—but they blended in so well they seemed indistinguishable from our students.

After morning classes ended, it was finally time for lunch. Using our school cafeteria, the OKHS Japan-Korea Sister School Ambassador Program organized an exchange lunch. Unexpectedly, more students wanting to participate showed up than anticipated, leading to a minor hiccup where seats ran short. Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed a pleasant lunch together, chatting about Japanese and Korean foods, idols, and current trends.

In the afternoon, STHS students experienced our second-year inquiry-based learning activities. Our second-year students are divided into various fields for a year-long research project. In the science field, they advance their research through experiments and observations. Other teams research languages like English, programming, sports, or calligraphy. STHS students were divided into groups based on their individual interests, allowing them to experience what it means to “learn through inquiry.”

We also held the club activity experience, another strong request from STHS. Club activities in Korea seem to be more like lessons, and the practice of regularly gathering after school to participate together is apparently a uniquely Japanese cultural phenomenon. Based on their preferences, the students split into various clubs for their experiences. The two STHS students trying karate had experience in aikido and taekwondo, and they mentioned how similar the body mechanics felt.

After the club activities ended, it was finally time for the last program: dinner. STHS and OKHS students paired up as buddies and dined together at Cocoon in Saitama Shintoshin. While each buddy pair was free to choose, the students decided on their own to eat together as a group. Over 20 members enjoyed a warm and friendly dinner. Everyone arrived together at the hotel, the designated meeting point, concluding the program in a very warm atmosphere.

We look forward to deepening our exchange even further in the future.

＜From Student Feedback＞

I was amazed at how well the STHS students spoke Japanese. Even using translation tools, we could communicate well and had fun, but it made me realize I want to learn Korean to make interactions even smoother. Since they treated us so wonderfully when we visited Korea, I’m glad they enjoyed themselves in Japan this time. Though I’m not a liaison ambassador, I was happy that a student from a previous online program remembered me. I hope the ease of conversation we share as high school students can continue to foster good relations between Japan and Korea.
